Who is Hiram Anderson? Andrew and his much younger sister, Addie, receive a letter they cannot read from him. The only clue is an added note to show it to their cousins. Cousins they do not know yet.
Once all four cousins arrive at their grandparents’ farm for the summer, an odd old woman hints that there is more than one letter that must be shared. When curiosity overcomes their mutual distrust, the cousins compare letters. The message in the combined letters sends them on a fantastic quest that leaves them trapped in another world. On old journal they find is filled with coded messages they must decipher.
With puzzling clues at every turn, and codes within codes, Andrew, his sister, and their cousins must rely on each other and their collective wits if they are to identify the treasure and figure out how to get it and themselves home. In the process, they discover Hiram Anderson and his legacy of faith to his family.
